Dear Parents of Division 3 and 4,

Hello! My name is Mr. Jung and I will be the Division 3 teacher this year. I am very excited about the opportunity to work with the class and I just wanted to write to introduce myself.

Your Child

As a parent you are forced to trust me with the your greatest treasure, your child. Having two children myself, I realize just how difficult this reality is. First and foremost, I would like you to know that I will do my best to treat each child in my class with the same care and understanding that I desire from my own children’s teachers. I will treat your child with the dignity and respect they deserve.

I believe that students should be happy to be at school and excited about their personal growth and development. While I will definitely try to teach your child as much “stuff” as I can, I have other goals that I believe are more important. First, I will strive to help build your child’s identity as a capable learner. I want your child to see the value in learning and, more importantly, have the confidence to believe that they can achieve high levels of academic success. Second, I want your child to learn how to learn. Once they believe that they can do well, they need the skills and strategies to succeed. And finally, I want your child to be passionate about learning.

Throughout the year, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns please don’t hesitate to let me know. I definitely do not have all the answers, but I will be happy to help you in any way that I am able. This year should not only be comfortable and exciting for your child, but for you as well.

I am excited about this year and I look forward to meeting you in person soon.

Dedicated to your child’s achievement,

Mr. Jung
